1. Mitra este purtată pe cap de arhierei în timpul slujbelor bisericeşti. Are formă de coroană împărătească, rotundă şi înaltă şi este împodobită cu iconiţe şi cruciuliţe.
2. Mitra (arhaism) înseamnă şi pântecele femeii însărcinate.
